Continuing Professional Development
It's important to keep pace with the ever-changing world of translation, as well as in touch with fellow translators.
My current CPD activities include:
Translators in Schools:
This is a professional development programme involving 3 days of training, including contact time with children, and aiming to widen the pool of translators and other multilingual people with the skills to run creative translation workshops in schools.
I completed this course in April 2015, and am now available to provide workshops in both primary and secondary schools.
Translate in the City:
This year I took part in the literary translation summer school held at City University London. It was fun!
I also attend the International Translation Day Symposium and the Institute of Translation and Interpreting conferences.

Pro bono work
TED
I have spent many hours volunteering as part of the TED Open Translation Project as an English Language Coordinator, proofreading and correcting crowdsourced subtitles so that the eminently good TEDTalks content can be shared across linguistic barriers.
HUMANIUM
Humanium is an international child sponsorship NGO dedicated
to stopping violations of children's rights throughout the world. I proofread, edit and correct translations for them.
