I am only just starting out in literary translation - a long-held ambition that has, for one reason and another, had to stay on the back burner until now. In April 2020, my first literary translation was published in an international children's literature issue of Words Without Borders. I chose to translate an extract from Sandrine Kao's chapter book Le banc, in which a Taiwanese boy struggles with racist bullying at school and pressure at home. You can read my translation here, alongside lots of other great world literature for children. |
